Magandang araw sa inyong lahat!
Filipinos have been profoundly affected by Korean culture. From their music to their clothing to their skincare to their cuisine, which includes ramyeon, kimchi, spicy noodles, milk tea, and the most popular "samgyeopsal" or Korean BBQ. We've seen a lot of tweets about it on social media, and there are a lot of new restaurants in Manila and even in the provinces that serve it. Many Filipinos are enamored with it due to its unusual notion of serving a variety of side dishes.
In Korean cuisine, samgyeopsal, also known as samgyeop-sal-gui or grilled pork belly, is a sort of gui (grilled dish). Its name directly translates to "three-layered flesh," referring to the apparent layers on the meat. Samgyeopsal is thought to have started in Kaesong in the early twentieth century. When it came to business, the inhabitants of Kaesong were known for their great talents and innovative ideas. Koreans have a long history of preferring beef to pork, dating back to the Joseon Dynasty. As a result, entrepreneurs come up with the idea of samgyeopsal, believing that it will be a hit because Koreans love meat.
FACT: Did you know that March 3 is "Samgyeopsal Day" in Korea? The average daily sales of samgyeopsal increase in South Korea, where it is celebrated every year, as many Koreans appear to observe this special day. It is commemorated on March 3 because the number 3 is pronounced "ssam" in Korean.
I've tried different samgyupsal restaurants around Pampanga, like Ms. K Samgyupsal, Rooftop SAM - G Korean Restauant, and more. I know that eating a lot of meat, especially pork, makes me happy, and especially with my friends, every time we have to celebrate, eating in a samgyupsal restaurant is the first thing that comes to our mind.
The nearest samgyupsal to us is Ms. K. Samgyupsal. It is located in Mquiapo, Guagua. They open it at 5 p.m. and close it at 11 p.m. in the evening because the location is used for car washing in the morning. The ambiance here is so nice and the food is good. Their side dishes are also good. And most importantly, their service is one of the reasons why we always eat here, not just because it's nearby. The waiters are so energetic We last went here on Valentine's Day, and they had a live band for the customers.
The Rooftop SAM-G Korean Restaurant is the other one we like. It is located in Consuelo, Florida, Pampanga. The place is good too, and the view is also refreshing. The place is a bit small, but you're not disappointed with the food, especially the side dishes. If you cannot control yourself by eating it, you'll be full before the meat comes. However, they work so quickly that you won't have to wait long. We eat here to celebrate their first dose of vaccination.
Many Filipinos enjoy it because of the restaurant's decor and designs, which range from traditional Korean palaces to pop music memorabilia-covered walls. If you're lucky, you might be able to try on some traditional Hanbok clothing for free, which would be ideal for your Instagram Story and feeds. Some eateries provide free Polaroid images that you can keep.
I hope you enjoy my blog, and wishing you all good health. Always be happy and everything will be alright at the right time. Hoping to see you in my next blog thank you and keep safe everyone!
